This Privacy Policy explains how Reddot Life Private Limited ("Reddot Life", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Angrez — Apna English teacher mobile application (the "App") and our website at angrez.in (together, the "Service").
Angrez is a speech-first spoken-English learning app for Hindi and Bengali speakers. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Phone number — used to create your account and to sign you in using a one-time password (OTP).
- Name — the name you enter during onboarding, used to personalise the App.
- Learning preferences — such as your learning goal and preferred daily practice time.
- Spoken responses — when you complete a speaking exercise (see Section 4, Voice and audio).
- Referral codes — if you enter a friend's referral code, or share yours, we record the referral relationship to credit rewards.
- Communications — any information you provide when you contact our support.
Information we collect automatically
- Learning and progress data — lessons and exercises you complete, your progress, mastery, streaks, and reward points (your "wallet").
- Device and technical information — such as app version, device type, operating-system version, and basic diagnostic logs needed to operate and troubleshoot the Service.
Payment information
When you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor (see Section 5). We do not collect or store your card, bank, or UPI details. We receive only your subscription status and a purchase identifier needed to activate and manage your subscription.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify your phone number.
- To provide the core learning experience — delivering lessons, evaluating your spoken answers, and tracking your progress.
- To operate rewards, referrals, and subscriptions.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Voice and audio
Angrez is a speech-first app, so speaking is central to how it works. When you complete a spoken exercise:
- Your device's built-in speech recognition converts your speech into text (a "transcript").
- Depending on your device and its settings, this speech-to-text conversion may be performed by your device's operating-system provider (for example, Google) under their own privacy policy.
- Only the recognised text transcript is sent to our servers — to check your answer and record your progress. We do not store audio recordings of your voice.
Microphone access is used solely for these speaking exercises while you are actively using a lesson.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to run the Service, and only as needed:
- Google Play Billing — processes subscription purchases made inside the Android App. Google handles your payment details directly under Google's Privacy Policy. We receive only your subscription status and a purchase token.
- Cashfree — if you subscribe through our website (angrez.in), payments are processed by Cashfree under its own privacy policy. We do not store your payment details.
- Exotel — sends the one-time password (OTP) SMS used to verify your phone number.
- Cloud infrastructure providers — we use trusted hosting and database providers (including Railway and Supabase) to securely store data and run the Service.
- Legal and safety — we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Reddot Life.
- Business transfers — if Reddot Life is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit access to it.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.

9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults (users 18 years of age and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your information may be stored and processed in India and, through our service providers, in other countries. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
